Shakespeare in Performance
Intensive course for all acting levels. 5 weeks, 10 Sessions.

The participants will be put through a regiment of exercises each class to focus on the physical qualities necessary to make the bard sing with their voice, body and emotions. Everyone will be assigned two scenes (one prose and one verse) to work on with a partner and the director leading up to a final presentation. The workshop will focus on table work, meter, punctuation, and presentation. The scenes and monologues will be taken from the more obscure plays of the cannon to refocus the actor’s attention to detail and find the joy in working with the text.
Participants are asked to prepare one soliloquy in verse for the opening session.
