Hart Decor Theater is an inclusive collection of performance artists based in Amsterdam. our mission is to provide a working environment to individuals wanting to learn new skills, find inspiration and expand their community. We promote multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary exchanges through a diverse series of workshops and theatrical productions.
Jonathan Geenen
Founder
Jonathan is a director, actor, and teacher. Born and raised in Canada, he has been living and working in the Netherlands since 2012. He has also called China and Japan home since leaving Canada in 2005. Although primarily a director at this point in his career, his research is fueled by his passion for the craft of acting and inter-disciplinary performance. Jonathan is a graduate of George Brown Theatre School (Toronto), and is currently pursuing a Masters in Theater at Toneelacademie Maastricht (ZUYD).
Alyssa Wagner
co-founder/performer/designer
Alyssa is an American actress originally from Denver, Colorado and is a proud ‘Amsterdammer’ of five years. She has performed in many theatre productions in Amsterdam including: International Theatre in Englishs’ Antigone, The Ingenious Mind, and InPlayers’ Bombshells, Nymph Errant, One Table, Two Chairs and Cabaret while featuring in several Amsterdam-based films and web-series'. Alyssa is a classically trained singer and dancer. She is educated in a variety of acting methods and improvisational comedy. Her professional career experience includes costume design, stitching, backstage wardrobe, as well as being a fit technician for both Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein.
Alina Abramova
co-founder/Performer/Writer
Alina is originally from Ukraine. She was introduced to her studies in performance while living in Milan at the Civica Suola di Teatro Paolo Grassi. She is a graduate of Pagina Uno Publishing House and is a published writer (Pagina Uno Magazine). Since moving to Amsterdam, she has focussed on studying multiple disciplines in performance, including film and television. She has played multiple roles in those mediums. Also a long time fashion industry professional, she has combined her knowledge with the design of Hart Decor’s Miss Julie in December 2018.
